SB 495:  Require schools to implement a cell phone policy and adds minimum requirements for the policy.

Sponsor:  Sen. Polehanki (D)                  

Passage: 100-3 with Immediate Effect

Why I voted YES: School employees, especially principals, are asking for a state law to improve enforcement of restricting cell phone use by students.

HB 4361:  Requires service quality and reliability standards adopted by the MPSC to allow tree trimming and vegetation management around power lines.

Sponsor:  Rep. Green (R)                          

Passage:  98-5 with Immediate Effect

Why I voted YES: Tree trimming is an essential part of maintaining grid reliability, especially with the increasing severity of extreme weather.
