Rep. Luke Meerman, R-Coopersville, released the following statement after it was announced that MIOSHA will no longer pursue permanent pandemic rules:
“We asked Michigan residents to share their thoughts about the permanent rules proposal, and they responded with more than 5,000 comments in objection. Public pressure brought Gov. Whitmer to the table and ultimately brought an end to her endless emergency.
“MIOSHA will no longer be able to use COVID restrictions to oppress and fine small businesses that are just trying to get back on their feet after one of the most challenging years in Michigan’s history. Workers will no longer be forced to comply with senseless rules. This is a win for workers and job providers across Michigan.”
State Rep. Luke Meerman and state Sen. Roger Victory today voiced their support of Parents Choice of West Michigan in its fight to legally overturn the Ottawa County Health Department mask mandate for K-6 students.
